The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has opened up to 104,256 digital wallet accounts in the Sargodha district thus far, encompassing all seven tehsils: Bhalwal, Bhera, Sillanwali, Sahiwal, Sargodha, Shahpur, and Kot Momin. This noteworthy development is a reflection of the government’s initiatives to increase financial aid accessibility and transparency for qualified recipients via the digital payment system.

The activation of digital wallet accounts is a component of BISP’s larger initiative to streamline the disbursement process, guaranteeing prompt and secure transmission of payments directly to recipients without intermediaries, according to Deputy Director BISP Sargodha Malik Safdar Awan.

BISP Digital Wallet Accounts Opened Across Sargodha District

The official stated that the digital wallet account opening process for registered BISP beneficiaries is actively underway across the Sargodha district. He revealed that a total of 104,256 digital wallet accounts have been opened so far, reflecting steady progress in the implementation of the new payment system. 

Among these, 52,171 accounts were opened in Sargodha city, while 12,562 accounts belong to Kot Momin and 12,409 to Shahpur. Additionally, 8,066 accounts were registered in Bhalwal, 7,390 in Sillanwali, 6,866 in Sahiwal, and 4,792 in Bhera, highlighting district-wide participation in the BISP digital wallet rollout.

68% Of BISP Account Has Been Opened

According to the deputy director, there are 213,727 BISP beneficiaries in the district, 104,256 of them have already received wallet account facilitation. The remaining beneficiaries will be assisted in the upcoming days, he continued, adding that about 68% of the account opening process had been finished.
