Under the “Chief Minister Punjab’s Livestock Card” program, which aims to increase the province’s meat and milk production by providing financial assistance, the Punjab Livestock & Dairy Development Department (L&DDD) Punjab has so far given more than 11,000 livestock cards to farmers.
14,000 Applications Approved By Punjab Government
According to Punjab Minister for Livestock Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani, who presided over a departmental meeting here on Thursday, the Department has received 117,750 applications from livestock farmers under this scheme, and the Bank of Punjab has approved about 14,000 of these requests.

Farmers Receiving Interest Free Loans Of Rs 27,000 Per Animal
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister stated that the Punjab Chief Minister’s Livestock Card project is a great one that will help livestock farmers. Farmers will be able to buy mineral mixes, silage, and animal feed with the Livestock Card. According to the Minister, farmers can obtain interest-free loans of Rs. 27,000 per animal using the Livestock Card.
Livestock Card Verification Process Going On For More Applicants
On December 5, the Punjab Chief Minister started distributing the livestock card. The card was formally introduced on January 9 in Pakpattan by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. There are currently 99,000 animals owned by these livestock holders, and the verification process for new applications is still under progress.
According to the Minister, Punjab has 942 traders who have registered for the Livestock Card. Livestock farmers have already spent 21 crore rupees since the Livestock Card’s buying process began on December 16. According to the minister, a notification has been sent out to form a steering committee, which would be chaired by the Punjab Chief Secretary and will give a 30% cash facility and oversee other livestock card-related issues.
Livestock Assets Disburse to rural widowed and divorced women
More than 110,000 women have applied thus far. Approximately 14,500 applications have been forwarded by the PITB to the Urban Unit for physical verification. Over 3,000 applications have been found to be eligible thus far.
The project to distribute livestock assets to widowed and divorced women in rural South Punjab was also reviewed during the meeting; this will be a significant step towards the prosperity of impoverished women. The Punjab Chief Minister’s initiative is a significant program for women’s empowerment. According to Minister Ashiq Hussain Kirmani, 5,000 widowed and divorced women would be chosen in the first year via a computerized lottery for the distribution of assets among rural women, depending on the allocated quota of 12 districts.
How To Register For Punjab Livestock Scheme?
One can apply online using the Punjab Information Technology Board application to receive the Chief Minister Punjab Livestock Card. The loan will be used for 120 days (four months) and have a maximum total term of 150 days (five months).
The loan must be repaid in full within the next 30 days, or one month. The Chief Minister Punjab Livestock Card would offer interest-free loans to cattle keepers. The Punjabi government will bear the cost of the interest or profit.
