This initiative aims to uplift rural communities and close the gap between the digital world and rural residents. The landmark project will bring innovative change to Pakistan’s rural society. Roras First Ever Smart E-Village In Pakistan

The initiative Asia’s First-ever smart village project is an ambitious program designed to bridge the digital gap in rural and remote areas. 

The smart village is going to be established in the Roras Village in Sialkot as the prototype project to improve the living conditions of the villagers as more villages will soon be covered in the scheme in the future.

Minister of IT Shaza Fatima Khawaja stated that the vision of the Smart Village project under the government’s Digital Pakistan vision is to digitally connect remote and rural areas via the internet, advance education, and medicines so that the quality of life of people becomes easier to resolve their daily issues including health and education.

Aim To Reduce Difficulties Of People:

The aim behind this objective is to reduce the daily challenges faced by rural populations, such as limited and low-quality education, healthcare, business and employment opportunities, and engagement toward the digital world. 

Info Ministry, ITU, Huawei And Bedari NGO Collaboration

The pilot project was launched in collaboration with the Ministry of Information, International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Huawei, Bedari NGO, and Tele-Education at Roras village. This collaboration brings together various stakeholders to ensure the success of the initiative and social development.

6 Months For The Completion Of Project

A target has been set to complete the Smart Village within six months, affirming that the village society begins to undergo the benefits of digital inclusion from now onwards. The Roras village is poised to become a benchmark for rural digitalization.

 The Telecommunication minister briefed that Pakistan will be the first among the Pacific-Asia to aid e-transforming facilitates. She also added that their commitment to the public simplifies the problems of the people of villages which are small but major problems.

Further, she explained that the facilities for the people toward the digital health and education programs in Roras are just the beginning.

Digital Business Skills Will Be Taught To 100 Young Ones:

Our youth is full of talent and skills but there is a need to highlight their talents. The Smart Village project will play a significant role in bringing forward talented youth and solving the daily problems of residents of the remote regions. One of the major components of the Smart Village is the Digital Business Skills training program, which will be offered to 100 young boys and girls in the village

This program will empower youth with the skills necessary to participate in the digital economy,  creating employment opportunities for entrepreneurship and remote employment.

Main Focus To Connect Rural Dwellers To Digital World

The Smart Village Pakistan fosters a government strategy to deliver the advantages of digital transformation across sectors like healthcare, education, and agriculture, aiming to uplift rural and underserved communities of Pakistan.

Smart Village initiative deeply focuses on digital inclusion. By connecting rural dwellers to the digital world giving villagers the tools they need to thrive in the modern world. The provision of advanced medical facilities, and digital medical consultancy will be offered in the scheme.

Formation Of Labs In Secondary Schools For Girls

The establishment of a modern computer lab and virtual education in the secondary school for girls in Rora’s village is a tremendous step. This initiative will enhance the learning environment but also provide the students with modern technology and a wider range of educational resources and opportunities.

This program has a significant impact on female literacy and empowerment.

Conclusion

The Smart Village project in Roras, Sialkot will be a landmark initiative in digitizing rural Pakistan. The main focus of the program is on digital skills, healthcare, and education, the initiative aims to uplift underserved communities and create employment and business opportunities.
