Benazir Income Support Program is providing financial assistance to 93 lakh families across Pakistan and all these people receive help because they are living a very tough life without any stable source of income or backup support. BISP will soon launch the “Benazir Hunarmand Program”, which aims to facilitate poor families by providing skill training to them so that they can earn income respectfully with their own talent and take their family out of the poverty line.

BISP Launching Benazir Hunarmand Program 2024-25

During a press conference, she and senior officials announced that BISP would soon launch a new project called the “Benazir Hunarmand Programme” to provide youngsters with skill-based training for their employability, enabling them to constructively contribute to the nation’s economy.

Senator Rubina Khalid, the chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP), stated on Friday that the program’s goal is to provide skill-based training to the nation’s youth to generate employment prospects.

Main Initiative of Benazir Hunarmand Program:

Women recipients and their children will receive skill-based training under the Benazir Hunarmand Program to help them acquire useful skills for jobs or small business opportunities. By increasing their level of financial independence, this program seeks to enhance their financial circumstances. It also creates more space in the program for new participants who require assistance as they gain new skills and become more independent.

NSER Data Sharing and Benazir Hunarmand Projects Reviewed

Senator Rubina Khalid congratulated Shaheen Khalid Butt on taking over as MD Bait-ul-Mal’s leader during the meeting at the PBM office. She also conveyed her wish that the two organizations’ cooperation would be strengthened.

Future welfare projects, skill development programs under the Benazir Hunarmand Program, and data exchange of eligible individuals through the National Socio-Economic Registry (NSER) were the main topics of discussion at the meeting. According to Senator Rubina Khalid, BISP is about to start the Benazir Hunarmand Program, which will give qualified skill training to qualified people so they may find work abroad.

On Friday 8th November, BISP Chairperson Rubina Khalid talked to the media about the latest update of the Benazir Program and its other initiative in which she announced the launching of a new scheme which will be named “Benazir Hunarmand Program”, in this way, they will make people capable of earning good source of income.

The chairperson stated that other nations are motivated to adopt such social protection systems like the Benazir Kafalat Program in light of BISP’s contributions to the timely delivery of relief to individuals impacted by natural calamities, such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the floods in 2022.

She acknowledged that several foreign delegations have been visiting BISP as a case study for research, saying, “It is a matter of pride for Pakistan that our institution serves as a beacon for many countries worldwide.”

Delegation From West Africa To Visit BISP One Window Center

Rubina Khalid revealed that on November 11, delegates from West African nations will travel to Pakistan for a comprehensive briefing on social protection, specifically BISP.

In addition to coordinating a visit to the regional BISP offices where they will meet with qualified women recipients, she said these representatives will receive a thorough briefing on Pakistan’s social security programs, particularly BISP. They will visit the BISP One Window Center, get an introduction to the payment system, and be instructed on the registration procedure for worthy families. On November 14, officials and interested parties will convene a roundtable discussion to create a cooperative action plan, she said.

Benazir Taleemi & Nashonuma Program Update 

Under the Benazir Taleemi Stipends, children from qualifying families receive educational stipends based on 70 percent attendance, the chairwoman explained during a briefing on the other BISP projects. Currently, 9.7 million students attend school.

According to Rubina Khalid, pregnant and lactating women and their infants receive nourishing food and cash support through the Benazir Nashonuma program. The Benazir Nashonuma program benefits almost two million mothers and children.
