Biggest Honhaar Scholarship Program: Launching Ceremony In Lahore!

Punjab’s CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif formally launched the Honhaar Scholarships while chairing the launch ceremony on Wednesday. This is a landmark project by the government, through which scholarships will be provided to thousands of aspiring students. The meeting was conducted at Punjab University in the presence of university heads and other officials.

During the launch ceremony, Maryam Nawaz Sharif also spoke about the laptop distribution scheme and e-bike for students, revealing two new exciting upcoming Punjab government initiatives.

 CM’s Honhaar Scholarship Program Update

Under Pakistan’s largest scholarship program, scholarships have been officially distributed to students in the form of checks by the CM Punjab. Under the Honhaar Scholarship Program, all the meritorious students who are unable to take admissions to good universities and colleges and who are yet to complete their higher education will achieve their milestones in higher studies.

The scheme is designed for Punjab’s youth under 22, aimed at families earning less than Rs. 300,000 annually. The budget allotted by the government For this record-making initiative is about 130 billion.

While launching the program, Maryam Nawaz Sharif made it clear how eager students are for this kind of scheme and how much the Punjab government is dedicated to providing such facilities to youth.

30,000 Students Awarded By Scholarships Across 68 Districts

Under this Honhaar Scholarship Scheme, scholarships will be provided to 30,000 students, out of which 60% quota is reserved for female students based on their intelligence and not having more resources.

The students were selected from 68 districts of Punjab out of which 18,000 female students and 12,000 boys were provided scholarships in the form of checks.

Scholarships were provided to students from 359 colleges, 12 medical colleges, and 65 universities from eligible districts. The tuition fees and all educational expenses of 30,000 students were covered under this project.

Scholarships With Zero Political Discrimination

Maryam Nawaz Sharif had also made it clear that all scholarships will be given on a 100% merit basis and no student will have any merit-related complaint. There will be no unfairness or injustice for any single student whether they belong to good universities or small universities will be treated equally.

The Chief Minister also added that it doesn’t matter whether you are a supporter of the PPP, PML-N, or the PTI, the government will not discriminate in providing scholarships to students related to any political grounds.

Elite Universities Now In Students Reach:

Maryam Nawaz Sharif also made it clear that all the students who dreamed of getting admission to renowned universities like FAST, LUMS, and other public and private universities and big medical colleges can now get admission at the elite universities or colleges and make their dreams come true.

Laptop Distribution Scheme in January 2025:

During the distribution of the first tranche of Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s laptop scheme, many students were provided with laptops, but many students were not selected for the scheme. So due to its increasing demand, it is going to be reintroduced. The CM Punjab is going to launch another new Free Laptop Scheme, which will be launched in January 2025, for all eligible and deserving students who lack access to the necessary technologies to succeed in their studies.

20,000 E-Bikes Are Set to Hit the Roads:

While addressing the gathering, Maryam Nawaz Sharif also talked about the electric bike scheme and said that 10,000 electric bikes have been distributed to the students so far and more than 20,000 electric bikes are in progress. 

She said that the Punjab government is taking all steps to provide good quality education and educational facilities to students. Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that she is fulfilling this responsibility not as a CM but as a mother.

65% Of Pakistan’s Youth: A Blessing From God!

Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that Pakistan is blessed with abundant minerals,  rich resources, and youth power. She also said that Pakistan is blessed by Allah Almighty and that blessing is 65% of Pakistan’s youth. She said that if 65%of our youth succeed, gain an advanced level of education, and set their careers as well as contribute to their country, then no one can stop our country from being at the forefront of development.

She also said that all these facilities and services that are being provided to students by the government are not a favor or kindness, it is the result of their hard work and their rights.

CM Considers Student’s Education As Leading Priority

It was also emphasized that education is the top-focused priority of the Government of Punjab. She expressed her commitment by saying that I don’t want a single day’s disruption during the education of children. To reinforce this scholarships have been rendered to students within just nine months.

Investing In Education Catalyst For Pakistan’s Growth:

During the meeting, she also shared her perspective by asserting that there can be no investment other than education for our nation’s youth, which we will yield in the form of a prosperous, developed, and thriving Pakistan in the future.

New Scheme To Provide Loans Upto 1 Crore Initiated

CM commenced that if our students do not have good opportunities after getting an education, then it is a big failure of the government. Therefore, Maryam Nawaz Sharif also announced that she is working on a project through which interest-free loans of up to one crore rupees will be given to students in easy installments so that they can start their new startups.
