Punjab To Launch E-Taxi Scheme For Jobless People!
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has decided to launch the first e-taxi in the country. This scheme will benefit Pakistan in various ways many belong to the unemployed class, so the unemployed will get a good source of income and people will be provided with modern, accurate, and affordable transportation.
This program will prove to be an excellent initiative for developing the transport sector across the province. This project, started by Maryam Nawaz Sharif, is a landmark initiative that is being started in Punjab for the first time, inspired by China’s electric vehicle (EV) taxi programs.

CM Punjab Launch First Ever E-Taxi Scheme Of Pakistan:
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has decided to start an electric transportation program in Pakistan, especially in Punjab inspired by the E-taxi program in China.
وزیر اعلیٰ پنجاب مریم نواز شریف نے چین میں ای ٹیکسی پروگرام سے متاثر ہو کر پاکستان خصوصاً پنجاب میں الیکٹرک ٹرانسپورٹیشن پروگرام شروع کرنے کا فیصلہ کیا ہے۔ اس اسکیم کا سب سے پہلے اعلان وزیر ٹرانسپورٹ بابر اکبر نے جمعرات 30 دسمبر 2024 کو ٹرانسپورٹ ہاؤس میں منعقدہ سیمینار میں کیا جہاں مختلف سرکاری محکموں، الیکٹرک گاڑیوں کے مینوفیکچررز اور ٹرانسپورٹرز کے مختلف اسٹیک ہولڈرز نے ای ٹیکسی اسکیم پر اپنے خیالات پیش کرنے کے لیے شرکت کی۔ اس اسکیم سے بہت سے بے روزگار لوگوں کو سہولت ملے گی، جبکہ عوام کو سستی اور پائیدار ٹرانسپورٹ بھی دستیاب ہوگی۔ یہ اقدام نئی ماحولیاتی اور اقتصادی تشویش کے تحت شروع کیا گیا ہے، جس کے ذریعے لوگوں کے لیے پائیدار اور سستی نقل و حمل کا انتظام کیا جائے گا اور ملک بھر میں ٹرانسپورٹ کا جدید ڈھانچہ تیار کیا جائے گا۔
This scheme was first announced by Transport Minister Babar Akbar on 30th December 2024 Thursday at the seminar held at the Transport House where various stakeholders from various government departments, electric vehicle manufacturers, and transporters participated to introduce their ideas on the e-taxi Scheme.
The scheme will facilitate many unemployed people, while affordable and sustainable transport will also be made available to the public.
This initiative has been launched under the new environmental and economic concern, through which sustainable and affordable transportation will be organized for the people and a modern transport structure will be crafted across the country.

Minister Bilal Akbar Will Supervise The E-Taxi Scheme:
Maryam Nawaz Sharif has entrusted Transport Minister Bilal Akbar with all the responsibilities to supervise this scheme. Punjab Transport Minister Bilal Akbar has been tasked to start this project as soon as possible.
Bilal Akbar held open discussions related to the E-Taxi program during his seminar so that the participants shared all the suggestions and thoughts related to the scheme.
Many aspects related to the e-test were discussed in the seminar, including electric vehicles, their prices, services, and the technical issues that arise.
Many participants shared their proposals for supplying Charging stations, battery standards,s, and spare parts for e-taxi. Bilal Akbar briefed during the meeting that “we are moving very quickly towards modern eco-friendly transportation”.
Employment resources for Jobless citizens:
An important vision of this initiative is that it will be very beneficial for the unemployed people across the province. This initiative will provide flexible payments to drivers and will include down payment and staggered payment plans so that it can be affordable and easy for everyone to buy an electric vehicle.
While the financial burden of residents will be also reduced. The government is trying its best to attract drivers towards electric e-taxis so that eco-friendly vehicles can be promoted as much as possible.
Jobless people can earn their livelihood from this scheme while contributing to a sustainable environment.
Deewan Groups And NRTC Enthusiasm To Collaborate For E-Taxi Scheme:
Bilal Akbar also discussed that the transport departments want to collaborate with companies with great interest in this scheme. Some of the companies that are ready to contribute to this successful e-taxi implementation scheme include Dewan Groups and National Radio and Telecommunication Corporation.
First Tranche Of E-Taxi Program To Be Launched In Lahore
It has been decided to implement this scheme throughout Punjab, but the first tranche of this scheme will be launched in Lahore. Other cities of Punjab will also be targeted, but the schemes will be implemented in Lahore first. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has clearly stated that transport services will be available around the clock.
The Government of Punjab is aligning with a much broader goal by promoting sustainable urban mobility in this manner.
Affordable Eco-Friendly Transport For Residents
