Eco-Friendly Transport Project: Starting Soon In Punjab!

The Punjab government has launched the Sustainable Transport Initiative to reduce pollution and carbon emissions. This project is trying to improve the environment through models and eco-friendly solutions. 

Starting from Lahore, electric rickshaws and E-Buses will be launched, which will start a new era of affordable and green transport in the province. Transport Minister Bilal Akbar Khan and others will support the Punjab government in its implementation.

Electric Auto-Rickshaws Going To Be Launch In Punjab:

A new update has been received from the Punjab Government. The Punjab Government has taken an important step to upgrade and modernize the urban transport system and make it environment-friendly. Now, traditional fuel-based auto-rickshaws will be introduced in Lahore. 

پنجاب حکومت کی جانب سے ایک نئی اپڈیٹ موصول ہوئی ہے۔ پنجاب حکومت نے اربن ٹرانسپورٹ سسٹم کو اپ گریڈ اور جدید بنانے اور اسے ماحول دوست بنانے کے لیے ایک اہم قدم اٹھایا ہے۔ اب لاہور میں ایندھن پر مبنی روایتی آٹو رکشے متعارف کرائے جائیں گے۔ یہ اقدام نہ صرف فضائی آلودگی اور کاربن کی پیداوار کو کم کرے گا بلکہ ایک پائیدار ٹرانسپورٹ سسٹم کے لیے ایک مثال بھی قائم کرے گا۔ الیکٹرک رکشوں کے ذریعے شہر کی ہوا صاف ہو جائے گی، اور روزانہ کا سفر بھی سستا اور موثر ہو جائے گا۔ یہ منصوبہ پنجاب حکومت کی ماحولیاتی اجازت کے عزم کا ثبوت ہے۔ اس کے ساتھ ایڈورٹائزنگ ایجنسیوں کے لیے ای بائیکس کا پائلٹ پراجیکٹ بھی متعارف کرایا گیا ہے جس سے آلودگی میں کمی آئے گی۔ پنجاب حکومت کا یہ اقدام نہ صرف ماحول کو صاف ستھرا بنائے گا بلکہ پنجاب کے اربن ٹرانسپورٹ سسٹم کو قابل اعتماد اور جدید بنانے میں بھی بہت مددگار ثابت ہوگا۔

This initiative will not only reduce air pollution and carbon output but will also set an example for a sustainable transport system. The city’s air will be cleaner through electric rickshaws, and the daily commute will also become cost-effective and efficient. 

This project is a testament to the Punjab Government’s commitment to environmental permitting. Along with this, a pilot project of e-bikes for advertising agencies has also been introduced, which will lead to a reduction in pollution. This initiative of the Punjab Government will not only make the environment cleaner but will also be very helpful in making the urban transport system of Punjab reliable and advanced.

The Punjab Govt Has Set 90 Million For Electric Rickshaws:

According to EPA sources, the Punjab government has allocated Rs 90 million for the first phase of its electrification project. This amount will be used for the development and installation of electric rickshaws as well as their charging stations. This investment is necessary for the start of the project so that it will also provide guarantees. The long-term goal of this project is to make Punjab cleaner and greener and this initial funding is an important step in this direction.

World Bank Will Give Grant-In-Aid For This Project:

The World Bank has also expressed its willingness to provide a Grant-In-Aid for electric auto-rickshaws. The World Bank has sent the Grant-In-Aid case to its executive for approval and this approval is expected to be done by March 2025. This support recognizes the global level of Punjab’s transport infrastructure and can be helpful in the full implementation of this project. 

CM Punjab Assigned Transport Minister Bilal Akbar For Electric Rickshaws Scheme:

The Punjab Chief Minister has given the responsibility of implementing the Auto electric rickshaw projects to Provincial Transport Minister Bilal Akbar Khan. In a statement, Bilal Akbar Khan said that a comprehensive scheme to operate electric rickshaws will not only help in controlling pollution and smog but will also significantly move urban transport towards an eco-sustainable mode. This strategy aims to promote the use of electric rickshaws in Lahore and other cities, which will help clean the city’s air and reduce the environmental impact.

Punjab Govt’s E-Bikes For Cleaner Greener Punjab:

The Punjab government has launched a new initiative to combat pollution and provide sustainable transportation. In the first phase, 250 electric motorcycles will be provided to the opposition, which will be used for their daily work. 

The Director General (DG) Punjab Imran Hamid Shaikh explained the project in detail and said that this is a pilot phase, but its impact is quite promising. The e-bikes have low maintenance, zero emissions, and can be fully charged in 4 hours. According to Imran Sheikh, this project will help reduce the carbon footprint and promote a sustainable friendly ecosystem. 

If any district works here, it will be extended to other districts in the same district. This project is an important opportunity to promote sustainable practices.

CM Punab’s E-Taxi Scheme:

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has also announced the launch of a new scheme for sustainable transport, e-taxi services, which will be launched first in Lahore. This initiative is also an important value for the work of emission reduction and carbon matches. 

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed to implementation of the system of China e-taxis in Punjab. The Punjab Transport Department has started the groundwork and started the collaboration with property stakeholders like Dewan Groups and NRTC. It will be expanded to other cities, which will become an example of friendly and good mobility for the entire province.
