Free MRI Services Starting Soon In Govt Hospitals Of Punjab

Maryam Nawaz Sharif has decided to start a new era of health services across Punjab where free MRI services will be made available to patients in both government and private hospitals. The Chief Minister has launched this initiative through the Public Private Partnership model to provide advanced diagnostic facilities in the underserved of ​​Punjab.

CM Punjab Launched MRI Service In Public-Private Hospital

During a meeting in Lahore on January 7, 2025, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed the Punjab government to start MRI services in the district hospitals of Punjab. She also chose the (PPP) Public-Private Partnership outsourcing model.

7 جنوری 2025 کو لاہور میں ایک اجلاس کے دوران، وزیر اعلیٰ پنجاب مریم نواز شریف نے پنجاب حکومت کو پنجاب کے ضلعی ہسپتالوں میں ایم آر آئی سروسز شروع کرنے کی ہدایت کی۔ اس نے پبلک پرائیویٹ پارٹنرشپ آؤٹ سورسنگ ماڈل کا بھی انتخاب کیا۔ پرائیویٹ سیکٹر ہسپتالوں میں جدید آلات اور ہنر مند تکنیکی ماہرین فراہم کرے گا جبکہ وہی سہولیات اور انفراسٹرکچر سرکاری ہسپتالوں میں فراہم کیا جائے گا۔ ایم آر آئی سروسز انیشیٹو کا بنیادی مقصد یہ ہے کہ لوگ اپنے علاقے میں اعلیٰ معیار کی تشخیصی خدمات حاصل کر سکیں تاکہ پیچیدہ بیماریوں کا بروقت علاج ہو سکے۔ ابتدائی طور پر کچھ منتخب اضلاع میں آرائز سروسز متعارف کروائی جا رہی ہیں جہاں ان ہیلتھ کیئر سروسز کی بہت ضرورت ہے لیکن آگے جا کر ہسپتالوں کو وسعت اور جدید بنایا جائے گا تاکہ لوگوں کی طبی ضروریات کو پورا کیا جا سکے۔

The private sector will provide advanced equipment and skilled technicians in hospitals, while the same facilities and infrastructure will be provided in government hospitals. The main objective of the MRI Services Initiative is that people can get high-quality diagnostic services in their area to get timely treatment for complex diseases. 

Initially, Arise services are being introduced in some selected districts where there is a great need for these healthcare services, but going forward, the hospitals will be expanded and modernized so that the medical needs of the people can be met.

MoU Signed To Start MRI Services In Sheikhupura And Bahawalnagar

The Punjab government has decided to implement MRI services first in Sheikhupura and Bahawalnagar. The Punjab government has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to provide MRI scanning services in Sheikhupura and Bahawalnagar. 

This means that the government and private companies have entered into an agreement in which the private company will provide machines and skilled technicians and the government will provide hospital facilities and infrastructure. The aim of this collaboration is that advanced MRI services will be available in these two mystical districts, which will enable people to get timely diagnoses of chronic diseases and their treatments.

Punjab Government Has Allocated 399.2 Million For Project

The Punjab government has estimated a total cost of Rs 399.2 million to provide MRI services in Sheikhupura and Bahawalnagar. This means that this amount is to set up MRI facilities in these districts and install machines. This money will not only be spent on equipment and infrastructure but will also improve healthcare facilities.This cost has been allocated to provide high-quality MRI services to the people in these two districts, which will play a very good role in accurate diagnosis of complex and chronic diseases.

MRI Machine’s Installation Has Completed In Sheikhupura

The installation of MRI machines at the District Headquarters Hospital in Sheikhupura has been completed, which means that MRI scanning facilities will now be available in Sheikhupura’s hospitals. Soon, these machines will help local people in diagnosing complex diseases.

These machines implementation will be soon started in Bahawalnagar so that the residents here can get advanced technological services and accessibility to modern healthcare facilities can also be possible so that people can get quality healthcare services in their own area.

Simultaneously launching the Maryam Nawaz Health Clinic, Maryam Nawaz said that 2500 basic health units are still functioning in Punjab. She also said that by the end of this month, 1250 units will be fully re-equipped. Maryam Nawaz also said that the free medicine provided during Shahbaz Sharif’s era has been restarted.

In addition, the budget for licensed patients has also been increased, which was earlier 7 lakh rupees, now it has been increased to 1 million rupees. These steps have been taken to make health services better and more accessible.
