CM Punjab Increases E-Bike Quota: 50,000 More Students to Receive Bikes

Here is the latest Update for all the applicants of the Punjab E-Bikes Scheme, as the Government of Punjab has announced the increase in the Qouta of E-Bikes that will be given to the applicants who have applied since the first Phase. The CM of Punjab has also ensured that the government will soon start the distribution of Bikes for the second phase therefore those applicants who have already registered will receive their Bikes in very easy installments.

Punjab CM Expands E-Bike Quota for Students Due to High Demand

Driven by a rise in student interest, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has proposed an increase in the quota for e-bikes, a significant step toward supporting student mobility. There has been an enormous amount of demand for the program, which is a component of the provincial government’s larger aim to offer students accessible transportation options.

190,000 Students Register for E-Bikes with Easy Installments

Provincial Transport Minister Bilal Akbar Khan announced that students can get e-bikes through a payment plan with easy installments, making them affordable for everyone. So far, 190,000 students have signed up for the first phase, which will distribute 20,000 bikes, including 1,000 electric ones.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has reviewed the whole situation and after seeing the tremendous interest of Students in receiving Bikes from the Government, she has announced to giving of E-Bikes to all the remaining students who have applied which are almost 7200 more students, as the Qouta for E-Bikes was only 1000, therefore, remaining students will soon get their Bikes on easy installments.

CM Punjab Orders Faster E-Bike Distribution After 50,000 New Applications

The minister stated that the extra 50,000 applications from students hoping to receive an e-bike demonstrate how successful the initiative is. CM Nawaz has therefore directed that the distribution of these bikes be expedited. He also requested that the involved departments get daily progress reports.

Government Will Pay For Additional Cost Of E-Bikes

Although e-bikes are more expensive, Bilal Akbar Khan stated that the Punjab government has promised to pay the extra costs to keep them within the reach of students.
