Livestock Card Services Start in Punjab – SMS 8070 to Apply!
Maryam Nawaz Sharif had previously announced that the distribution of livestock would be formally started on 15th December. 80,000 livestock farmers would easily purchase good animal feed, Silent, Wanda mixture, etc. The Punjab government has set a budget of 11 billion rupees for the livestock card scheme, and livestock cards have already been allotted to Kisan all over Punjab.
The Punjab Livestock Department has revealed news that 1000 livestock cards have been issued to cattle farmers in the pilot phase. Farmers can now register for this scheme by sending an SMS to 8070.

1000 Livestock Cards have been Distributed
The Punjab Dairy Development and Livestock Department has disbursed 1,000 CM Livestock Cards to cattle ranchers in Lahore. These cards aim to support cattle kisans in purchasing essential items such as feed, silage, and wanda mixtures from the registered food dealers to improve the health and livestock animal yield.

The meeting was presided over by the livestock minister Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani while Saqib Ali Ateel, President BOP Zafar Masood, and Sector Head of Urban Unit Dr.Abdul Basit took part virtually.
Register Via PLC 8070 For CM Livestock Card
All the Kisan who want to equip benefit from the 11 Billion Livestock project so active right now because the time is short. The rancher can easily register themselves in the scheme by simply sending sms to the 8070 code and getting enrolled right now.
Farmers can use their interest-free loan amount to purchase the basic requirement of cattle when they register for the Card at the nearest BOP Branch by Dec 15.
114,000 Applications Received For The Project
During the review status meeting of livestock card disbursements and empowering women in rural areas by the provision of free livestock the livestock department Minister revealed that the government has received an overwhelming response, with 114,000 applications. Among these 114,000 applications, 33,000 applications are in the procedure of verification.
This highlights the massive interest and need for such initiatives among farmers. The government is in the working process to benefit the beneficiaries as soon as possible.
27,000 Rupees Loan Per Buffalo
Under the scheme, the 80,000 farmers can get loans up to 270,000 for a maximum of 10 buffaloes or bison. All the eligible livestock kisans will equip a loan of 27,000 rupees per cow will aid them in buying feed, silage, and shelters for their livestock.
The provincial minister also commenced orders to pursue a steering committee to announce more than 30% cash for livestock cards and to carry out other related matters.
BOP Has Already Approved 7,000 Applications
While chairing the meeting it was also announced that the Bank of Punjab has so far approved 7,000 applications for the CM Punjab 8070 Livestock Card and it was also informed that the verification process of more applications is still going on, which shows that the applications of other people are also being checked and the result will be drawn soon.
At present, the Livestock Department has 50,000 animals under verification that are included in this program and they are also entitled to get the Livestock Card.
5,500 Womens Will Be Benefitted For Free Livestock Distribution
To promote widows and divorced women across South Punjab, the government has allocated 5,500 women for free livestock disbursement. Empowering women in agriculture is expected to yield long-term socio-economic benefits for rural communities. In this program, women from 12 districts of south Punjab are enlisted, While the women will be selected through electronic balloting for the livestock.
PITB Has Sent 14,500 Application To Urban Unit For Verification:
Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani also added that out of 114,000 applications, the process of 33,000 applications has been completed and 7000 people have been selected, while 14,500 applications have been sent for verification by the PITB to Urban Units.
