Here is the latest update for all the residents of Punjab who are facing unbearable complications due to air pollution and smog, now the Punjab government has taken a serious measure against air pollution for monitoring the level of smog in the air.

As part of the province’s digital revolution, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has led the charge in creating a state-of-the-art air quality monitoring system. Consequently, 30 air quality monitors have been set up in high-pollution cities like Lahore.

It has been reported by some official sources that approximately 30 air monitors have been installed in Lahore and other high-pollutant cities to regulate the level of pollution in the air. The project’s second phase will include the installation of 25 more monitors. Lahore now has eight monitors monitoring air pollution as a result of this latest development.
Global AQI Information Network
The global AQI (Air Quality Index) information network will also be merged with this cutting-edge digital technology, according to Maryam Aurangzeb. Instead of hiding information, data will be made available to scholars and the general public, encouraging a culture of openness.
The installation of this cutting-edge equipment will offer precise data and help with the prompt detection and prevention of air pollution.
Police In Action Against Anti-smog Law Violators
A strict law has been made for Smog and pollution in Punjab which needs to be followed by all the residents to avoid people getting affected by its severe consequences. However, the Punjab police filed 18 complaints and detained 12 individuals for breaking the province’s anti-smog regulations. A police spokesperson said that 29 persons received cautions and 362 people received fines over Rs 550,000.
Challan On Cars Causing Pollution
About 4,865 cars that were causing excessive smoke were challaned, 445 of them were seized, and two of them had their fitness certificates revoked. In the meantime, 52 stores in the province capital were shut down for not adhering to the smog-fighting operation hours.
