Addition of More Hospitals For KP Sehat Card Scheme!

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Government has broadened the panel under the Sehat Card Scheme by adding more public and private hospitals that provide free treatment. KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur directed the quarter to fix a meeting to finalize the public and private hospitals’ participation in the infrastructure of the Sehat Card Scheme.

The outsourcing of hospitals in remote areas was also part of the CM Gandpur meeting session. The financial dues were also discussed in the steered meeting, as CM Gandapur ordered the finance department to clear the remaining dues as soon as possible.

KP Govt To Add More Hospitals Under Sehat Card

On Tuesday, November 11th, 2024, the healthcare department presided over the policy board meeting, which was held on the instruction of KP CM Ali Amin Gandapur, to finalize the inclusion of more hospitals under the Sehat card Scheme.

The Sehat Insaf program was initiated to provide in-patient department (IPD)services across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The scheme provides free treatments and medicines to the deserving residents of KP. Under this program, 7.2 Families are getting impatient health care services. Annually the Sehat plus Card programme costs around RS18 Billion.

Gandapur emphasizes that only the hospital that ensures the quality standards of the Sehat insaf card will be added.

  • Syed Adeel Shah, health secretary.
  • Sehat Card Plus and KP Health Foundation’s other officials were also present.

Empanelment Of More Hospitals In Remote Areas

The gathering emphasized developing more medical services in remote areas by adding more clinics under the Sehat Card Plan and outsourcing clinics in remote regions. The aim is to guarantee accessible, quality medical care for underserved residents, alongside more extensive wellbeing heath sector and related problems solution.

Finance Department To Clear Dues Over Outsourced Public Hospitals:

The meeting also focused on the earlier delegated Public hospital’s progress and financial dues that are not cleared. Due to the unpaid dues the services to the serve ones were delayed.

To address this concern Chief Minister KP Ali Amin Gandapur supervised the finance department to Fulfill pending liabilities at the earliest convenience. Gandapur directed to quickly start the healthcare services in all eligible hospital under the Sehat Card Scheme.

Outsourcing More Hospitals Under PPP By Dec

During the cabinet meeting in the provincial cabinet, Chief Minister KP directed the officials of the Health Foundation to outsource more hospitals under the Sehat Card Program and also directed the Health I Department to send proposals for outsourcing more hospitals under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model by December 2024. 

All the hospitals that have fulfilled the quality standard of the Sehat Card Program will be given a proposal and will be added to the list of outsourcing hospitals.

Positive Result Of Offshoring Hospital By PPP:

The implementation of outsourcing the Hospital under the Public Private Partnership(PPP) model has yielded very good results. Practices are being done to further improve this process so that good healthcare services can reach remote people. 

Along with this, CM Ganapur Sahib also added that the project aims to make healthcare more accessible and effective, especially in remote areas that are far from the roads.

Simplifying Externalizing By Updating The Existing Laws

It was decided to simplify the hospital outsourcing process by amending relevant legal frameworks and establishing a steering committee, chaired by the chief minister, to streamline outsourcing efforts.

Chief Minister Gandharpur also added that this committee is being formed to improve and simplify the outsourcing process so that healthcare services can be managed more efficiently and effectively for KP residents. Thus, the work of outsourcing the hospital will also be done quickly and in a better and more technical manner.

Free Medicine To Children With Haemophilia

A decision was also made to enter into a partnership with Roche Pharmaceutical Company, through which free medicines will be provided to children affected by Haemophilia, Roche therapeutics, and the KP government will jointly determine the cost of these medicines, which will be shared between the both of them. 

The Chief Minister also said that efforts are being made to further improve the Basic Healthcare Centers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

KP Govt Allocate Rs 4 Billion For Sehat Card Programme

On November 16, 2024,  an expansion of Rs 4 billion for the Sehat Insaf Card Program in KP was released. The program has been further expanded by increasing the allocation of Rs 4 billion in this program, through which more hospitals and resources will be added to the program and a better healthcare services sector will be provided to the people.

Conclusion

The KP government has taken the step of including more hospitals in the Sehat card scheme through outsourcing, in which both public and private hospitals will be added so that healthcare services can be provided to residents living in remote areas. The government’s KhyberPakhtunKhwa and Roche Pharmaceuticals in collaboration will provide free medicines to child patients affected by hemophilia. In addition, directives to the finance department to clear pending dues were made.

The government KP expanded 4 billion rupees for the program to benefit more eligible residents across the KP.
