Bank Accounts to Ensure Easier Access
The BISP Secretary described the plan to open bank accounts for each beneficiary, enabling them to take out money straight from bank branches. “This is an important accomplishment,” he continued. To evaluate the new approach, we are starting a three-month pilot experiment in metropolitan areas. Our objective is to make it possible for recipients to take their money out of any bank in the nation.

BISP Starting Cards For 130,000 Women In January
Approximately 130,000 women beneficiaries presently struggle with thumb verification, according to BISP officials who briefed the committee. These women will receive special cards in January to address this.
This change is much needed to address their concerns so that they can easily withdraw their 13500 Cash from their BISP accounts.
Cash Disbursement Via Point Of Sale Agents
Addressing the differences in banking infrastructure, officials also emphasized the difficulties in transferring payments to bank accounts. The bulk of BISP users live in rural areas, while the majority of the country’s 17,000 bank branches are found in metropolitan areas.
Officials recommended using point-of-sale agents to continue cash payments in order to lessen this problem.

Mir Ghulam Ali, Chairman of the Committee, stressed the importance of fully automating the BISP system to ensure transparency and efficiency. He stated, “The system should be on automation for transparency and efficiency,” highlighting the need for modernizing processes to better serve beneficiaries and streamline operations.

In conclusion, BISP’s announcement to open bank accounts for 10 million beneficiaries marks a transformative step toward improving accessibility, convenience, and transparency in cash disbursement. The pilot project and introduction of special cards for women facing verification issues reflect the program’s commitment to addressing challenges faced by beneficiaries.
