9th Nov: Public Holiday Nationwide – Gov Latest Announcement!
Here is the latest Update from the Federal Government of Pakistan, for all the residents that on 9th November 2024, there will be a Public Holiday in Pakistan on the occasion of Allama Iqbal Day, therefore all Schools, offices, and Institutions will remain Closed on Saturday 9 November 2024.
In this regard, to make it official for all the provinces, the government has issued an official Notice declaring the 9th of Nov as a National Holiday of Pakistan.

Allama Iqbal Day: Public Holiday!
In honor of Allama Iqbal Day, the federal government of Pakistan has declared Saturday, November 9, to be a public holiday nationwide.
پاکستان کی وفاقی حکومت نے یوم علامہ اقبال کے اعزاز میں 9 نومبر بروز ہفتہ کو ملک بھر میں عام تعطیل کا اعلان کیا ہے۔ ہر سال 9 نومبر کو قوم معروف شاعر ڈاکٹر علامہ محمد اقبال کی یاد میں یوم اقبال انتہائی جوش و خروش سے مناتی ہے۔ 9 نومبر 1877ء کو شاعر مشرق کہلانے والے فلسفی اور شاعر ڈاکٹر علامہ محمد اقبال سیالکوٹ میں پیدا ہوئے۔ ان کی میراث پاکستان اور بڑی مسلم دنیا کے لیے ایک بارہماسی الہام کا ذریعہ ہے کیونکہ اس نے انصاف، علم اور خود آگاہی پر مبنی معاشرے کی وکالت کی۔
Every year on November 9, the nation celebrates Iqbal Day with great fervor in honor of the renowned poet Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal. On November 9, 1877, Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal, the philosopher and poet renowned as the Poet of the East, was born in Sialkot. Notification Issued By Federal Government
However, to make it Publically official, the federal government has issued a notice which stated:
“As notified vide Cabinet Division’s circular No. 10-02/2023-Min-II dated 20th December 2023, listing Public and Optional Holidays for the year 2024, Saturday, the 9th November 2024 shall be a public holiday throughout the country on the occasion of Allama Iqbal Day,”
In order to make sure that the public is aware of the impending vacation, Cabinet Secretary Kamran Ali Afzal has signed the notification, which asks that it be widely disseminated through prominent English and Urdu media channels.
Banks To Be Remain Closed On 9th Of November
The decision to keep all banks closed on Saturday has been communicated to the presidents and chief executives of all banks by the central bank.
Due to the weeklong vacation on Sunday, November 10, the banks would reopen on November 11. To help the clients, however, vital systems and services pertaining to interbank transactions will remain operational.
