Punjab’s Initiative For Underprivileged students: Umeed-e-Nau Program Begins!

The Government of Punjab has taken the most finest steps for underprivileged students of Punjab schools, who belong to such poor families that they are deprived of warm and appropriate clothing. Therefore Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz has unveiled the new and latest initiative for school going children in different Parts of Punjab.

Under the special direction of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Punjab government has started the “Umeed-e-Nau Program” to help disadvantaged students get through the difficult winter months.

Umeed-e-Nau Program Launched By Punjab Govt

Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz has officially announced the starting of new initiative across the province for only eligible and vulnerable students which shows that they are not only focusing on the economic or agriculture sector but the Punjab govt is also working for the children of poor families.

In this regard CM has started the new Umeed-e-Nau Program to facilitate the poor and vulnerable children who are unable to buy proper clothing for themselves. Officially, the initiative, led by Bait-ul-Mal and the Social Welfare Department, will start on January 13.

The goal of this program is to give kids who don’t have access to these fundamental essentials winter clothing, such as shoes and sweaters.

List Of Areas For Warm Clothing Disbursement

Four districts in Punjab would be the focus of the pilot project’s first phase of uniform distribution. These districts were chosen to guarantee the greatest possible influence and efficacy in meeting the requirements of the students:

  • Narowal, 
  • Lahore, 
  • Layyah, 
  • and Rajanpur

Socks, shoes, sweaters, and other winter necessities will be given to worthy students in Narowal after the winter break.

Target Of Supporting 23,000 Students 

23,000 students from 204 schools are expected to profit from the program, and Rs 43.437 million has been set aside for the distribution of winter uniforms.

Since the winter season is already well underway in the nation, particularly in Punjab’s cities and regions, where temperatures are extremely low, the Punjab government has decided to provide free winter clothing to students in the province. This initiative will benefit 21,000 children enrolled in government schools in Lahore.

Program’s Opening Ceremony In Narowal

Plans are already in place to expand the program to other districts in the near future, reaching more deserving students. 

Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal and Provincial Minister for Social Welfare Suhail Shaukat Butt will formally launch the initiative at the program’s inaugural ceremony in Narowal. Officials have promised that the program runs completely transparently and strictly according to merit.
