Sehat Card Rate Increases In KP Due to Hike In Medical Treatment – New Amount Update!
Khyber Pakhtoon Kha Government has Increased the rate of Sehat Card so that all the patients who are receiving their medical treatment through Card, can continue with the process as the medical treatment and prices of Medicine have been risen by the government, therefore to avoid any complications for the future treatment, the CM of Khyber Pakhtoon Kha has increases the amounts on Sehat Card.

Rate Hike On Cards For Treatment Under Sehat Card
A decision to increase rates for treatments covered by the Sehat Card Plus health insurance program was made by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department in response to the growing expenses of medical implants, medications, diagnostic reagents, and energy bills.

Chief Executive Officer of Sehat Card Plus, Dr. Muhammad Riaz Tanoli, confirmed the development and stated that Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur called the meeting to discuss the hospitals’ requests for higher treatment charges. He claimed that although the costs of utilities, implants, and medications had increased significantly, the hospitals stated that those rates had not increased since 2018.
Decisions To Be Made On Rising Cost Of Medical Treatment
According to Dr. Tanoli, the rate increase mostly benefits hospitals that do cardiac treatments because the cost of imported implants and stents has increased in US dollars.
He stated, “So far, we’ve used 27% of the Sehat Card Plus budget on heart patients.” He noted that to guarantee that patients receive high-quality care, rates for more than 50 therapies would be reviewed for increase, with cardiology receiving top priority.
He declared, “Our program aims to cover the entire population of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in empaneled hospitals with no compromise on service quality.” According to Dr. Tanoli, evaluations are being done to make sure hospitals fulfill the requirements for registration, and those who don’t comply will be removed from the list.
Rate hike for treatments under the SCP Program
At the meeting with the health minister, a medical director pointed out that since physician costs have gone up in recent years, a rate increase for treatments under the SCP program was also acceptable.
“Our cardiac surgeons employ stents, whose global costs are constantly increasing, requiring an increase in fees to guarantee prompt treatment and prevent patient harm,” he stated. The official projected that rates for cardiac services and other treatments will increase by at least thirty percent.
According to him, hospitals’ utility expenditures have increased fivefold in the last five years, so much so that the government has formed a committee to examine their requests for rate increases.
