Metric Curriculum Has Been Reduce By 25%: Update 2025

The curriculum would be reduced by 25% for the 2025 matriculation and intermediate yearly exams, according to the Sindh School Education Department. Exams will henceforth be administered using 75% of the syllabus, according to the revised formula, which was formally announced in a notification on Monday.

This has been done to keep the level of education at its maximum while releasing the extra burden for matric students so that they can prepare well for their annual exams 2025.

Students To Prepare For 75% Of Their Syllabus

75% percent of the syllabus will be tested for students in grades nine through twelve in all faculties, including Science, Humanities, Commerce, General Group, Pre-Medical, and Pre-Engineering. Therefore the senior students who have to appear for the board exams will now be tested for 75% of their syllabus to get maximum marks in their Paper.

The Directorate of Curriculum Assessment and Research, a division of the Sindh Education Department, has made this decision.

50% Syllabus To Be Completed Before Winter Break

The educational administrator has been instructed to fastly cover the syllabus of students before holidays and urged them to complete the 50% of their Syllabus before winter vacation and cover the remaining half topic after they came from holidays. In this way they will get enough time to prepare for the annual exams in 2025.

In order to ensure that 75% of the curriculum—which will also serve as the foundation for the exams is covered by the conclusion of the 2024–2025 academic year, only 50% of the remaining syllabus will be taught after the winter break.

New Academic Session: From 1st April For 2025-26

Changes to the 2025–2026 academic schedule were approved at a steering committee subcommittee meeting on November 28. With matric exams beginning on March 15 and intermediate examinations on April 15, the session will now commence on April 1 rather than August 1.

The syllabus will be condensed to conform to the updated schedule, which will assist teachers and students adjust to the shorter preparation time while guaranteeing that all necessary learning objectives are fulfilled.

With only 75% of the syllabus to prepare, students can focus better and perform well in their annual exams.
