Sindh Gov Introduces New Grading System For Matric & Inter Students

New Grading System Introduce By The Sindh Govt

For matric and inter students, the Sindh government has announced a new grading scheme that substitutes grades for the previous numbering scheme. The system will be put into place beginning in 2025 to offer a more thorough assessment of pupils’ performance.

Under the new system, developed by the Inter-Board Coordination Committee (IBCC), students will receive grades according to their performance. “Exceptional” will be given for scores of 95% and higher, while “Unsatisfactory” will be given for scores of 40% and lower.

Pattern For A New Grading System

According to the latest pattern issued by the Sindh Government, the new grading system is as follows;

95% and above: A++ (Exceptional)
90-94%: A+ (Outstanding)
85-89%: A (Excellent)
80-84%: B++grade (Very Good)
75-79%: B+ (Good)
70-74%: B (Fairly good)
60-69%: C (Above Average)
50-59%: D (Average)
40-49%: E (Below Average)
Below 40%: U (Unsatisfactory)

Sindh To Be The First Province For Introducing Grading System

While Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan have not yet replaced the old numbering system, Sindh was the first province to implement the new grading scheme.

It’s crucial to remember that in 2022, the national committee of educational board chairmen resolved to use a 10-point system statewide in place of the current grading scheme at the inter [grade XII] and matric [grade X] levels.

Minimum Passing Marks Have Been Increased

The IBCC Department recently announced that the minimal passing score for students has increased by seven points. As a result, students who previously failed with scores below 33 are now passing with scores above 40. During a news conference, IBCC Executive Director Dr. Ghulam Ali Mallah revealed that students would receive grace marks on exams as part of a broader educational reform effort.
